Soy Wax Benefits
Soy wax is all-natural
Soy wax is a favorite of environmentally conscious people.
Burning of soy candles does not increase the CO2 level in the atmosphere.
Soy candles last longer
Soy candles last 50% longer.
Soy candles spills are easy to clean
Soy wax spills can easily be clean up with hot soapy water.
Soy candles produce less soot
Soot is very unhealthy and should be avoided.
Soy candles produce about 90% less soot,
thus help to maintain air quality.
Scented soy candles distribute more flavor
The incorporation of soybean oil lowers the
melting point of the candle,
which translates into cooler burning candles
and faster scent dispersion.
Soy Wax Characteristics
Your soy wax candle may have a smooth or frosty appearance
before burning. All candles are hand poured;
therefore each batch may differ in appearance.
Your soy wax candle may also have a "crusty" or a "cauliflower"
appearance on the top of the candle after burning.
This is normal to natural soy wax and in no way affects
the burn of the candle. You may also see some wet looking spots
on the outside of the jars, this is also normal.
This is caused by temperature variations
and is simply due to the expansion and contraction of the wax.
Soy wax is also very sensitive to temperature and light,
so be aware of the location when placing or storing your soy candle.
Candle Safety
Please read the safety label on the bottom
of your candle container.
Candle Burning Tips
Do not trim wicks before burning for the first time;
I have already trimmed wicks to where they are supposed to be.
Candles burn best when the wax is allowed to
pool completely across the jars,
before blowing them out. This allows the melt pool to be
complete and then allows for an even burn
down the candle jar and prevents tunneling.
The basic rule is to burn 1 hour per diameter of the jar.
Trim mushrooms that develop or if your wick curls just trim
the very top of the curl, no shorter. If you trim the wick
too short it will affect the burn of the candle
and may not burn the correct way.
Keeping your wicks trimmed will produce less soot
on your candle jar. The wicks may not need
